DC Three - Eclogite

June 22, 2015

Tennessee, Woodsmoke RV Park.   We are here for Aaron's geology fix!  He is in search of some rare Eclogite located about 45 minutes (or 20 miles up a switch-back mountain road) in North Carolina.

DC Three!!! National Firearms Museum and Old Town Alexandria

June 20, 2015

Skipping the bus and the subways we decided to drive to the outskirts of DC and visit the National Firearms Museum.  Photography is allowed inside the museum however you have to sign a waiver stating that you will not post the pictures to social media.

The Firearms museum has a wide range of historic guns such as the Matchlock Musket and guns from the Revolutionary War.   There was also an interesting and rare Nazis belt buckle gun among many many other things.

The rest of the day we spent Old Town Alexandria, Virginia.

Old Town Alexandria is located on the Potomac River waterfront. It is a beautifully preserved historic district that was George Washington's adopted hometown.
